(My 500 Words)
When
I read a blog about the 31 day challenge, I felt a
kick in my soul. My spirit is saying: “You can do it!” but my flesh is saying
“You can’t do it!”
Writing and sketching is really what I want and one of my
hobbies since my childhood but I didn’t pursue it.
So
today (January 28, 2014), I’m going to take my first step. I actually don’t know why I’m doing this but
my fingers moves and continually clicking the computer keyboard.
Many people
are saying that it’s really hard to be a writer/blogger. Yes, it is.
Writing is not as easy as 1, 2, 3. It takes time, process, skill, dedication and determination.
It causes headache (that’s true), squeezes your brain and it can make you hungry
(literally). But it can also make you happy and brings you joy especially if
writing is really your passion.
There
are millions of books that were published in this planet and there are also
millions of writers around the world that we look up to. When you go to the mall
there is always a section for books, magazines, etc. When you surf the net, you
can found thousands of blogs and articles. Even to the house of your friends,
classmates, co-workers, and even your own, there are books all around, whether
is it a comic, comedy, coloring, novel, fiction, history book, name it. Maybe you’re thinking, if that is the case, is there still anything we can
write about if you can found information everywhere you go? In that thinking in mind, it will be very hard
for a new writer to come up with a unique and exceptional writing that can
amaze their reader. And that’s where
PRESSURE comes in.
When
“pressure” advanced that’s the time they will choose not to write even though
they really have the urge to do it.
So
today, as a part of my 1st day writing challenge, let us discuss
about PRESSURE.
Is
there a good thing about it? Or all you’re thinking is the opposite?
But
to tell you, there’s a lot of positive outcome it gives to a person.
Let
me give you some using its acronym.
P – purifies a person
R – revives dying passion
E – exposes potential
S – strengthens faith
S – subdue weaknesses
U – unifies idea
R – returns confidence
E
– encourages perseverance
See?
Told yah! There’s a lot of helpful effect a pressure can give you. But of
course there’s also negative effect. But don’t mind it. Why focus on the
negative side while you can be benefited from the good things? You’ll
probably say, “It is possible but it is
hard”. Yes it is. But why not try to
change or rephrase your wordings? What you feed your mind should be: “It is HARD but it is POSSIBLE.” Through
writing you can make impossible possible. You can make the climax more
exciting. You can create character and add events to make a certain story long.
You can cut it when you want or continue if you like. You can even make yourself the main character
of the story. You can make the dead
alive or alive become dead. When writing, you should always put in mind that
you are the “boss”, you are the “author”, you are the “creator”. You can write
“let there be…”, “let there be…”, “let there be…”. But of course that’s
different from God when He said “let
there be”, it happened and He is the only one who can do that. But through writing, you give life to your
character, you give them emotion, you give them path, and you give them
purpose.
The next time you are hindrance by putting into writing what’s on your mind,
JUST DO IT!
Make the history live. Give it color. Give it life. Give it a time. PURSUE!
Make the history live. Give it color. Give it life. Give it a time. PURSUE!
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. ~John 4:4 NKJV
