A lot has been said regarding this matter; books that were written, blogs that were posted, poems that were composed, songs that were played, prayers that were uttered, witnesses that testified, and Bible chapters and verses that attest God’s faithfulness.
For us, believers of Christ, there’s no question about it. This is not an issue anymore because we have proven this many times, hundred times, thousand times. (He remains and will remain faithful to His word. -2 Tim. 2:13)
How faithful are you?
The first question can be answer quickly and with no doubt, but how about the second one?
We’re not only talking here about faithfulness to men but to God.
99.9% sure that there are some who ‘pledge’ to you something that you really wanted. And again 99.9% sure that ‘you also give your words' to some people that you didn’t fulfill until now. What’s the feeling? Awkwardness and disappointment that you don’t actually want to cross path with them just for a simple reason; BROKEN PROMISES. (It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” -Psalms 188:8)
People are afraid of what others will think about them but they are not afraid to do things that will make those thinking over them. And mostly, they are not afraid to offend God with their actions. (“What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God?” –Romans 3:3)
Certainly to the one that is dear to us or to the one we LOVE. Right?
Therefore we can only be faithful to someone we love; “and so is God”. That proves that God is faithful because ‘He loves us’. As the Bible said in John 3:16, for He (God the Father) so LOVED YOU (the world) that He gave JESUS (His only begotten Son) that if YOU (whoever) BELIEVE in Him will not perish but will have and EVERLASTING LIFE. If we TRULY love God with ALL our HEART, ALL our SOUL and with ALL our MIGHT (Deut. 6:5) we should be faithful in LOVING Him, TRUSTING and OBEYING His words.
How old are you?
That is a literal question that should be given an exact answer. Why? Because, those are the years, months and days that we are living with God’s faithfulness and the very reason we breathe with freedom confirms it.
He choose to wake us up today not just to continue our pending works from yesterday but to enjoy life and His blessings, to spread the love that we have in Him, to continue our trust in Him and to let others see that the LORD our God is faithful in keeping His covenant for a thousand generations.
"UNDERSTAND, therefore, that the LORD your God is indeed God.
He is the FAITHFUL GOD who KEEPS HIS COVENANT
for A THOUSAND GENERATIONS
and CONSTANTLY LOVES those who LOVE him
and OBEY his commands."
